Two internationally acclaimed musicians team up to offer a musical ode to the citizens of Ukraine, featuring South African born/Toronto based Jim Gelcer on keyboards and vocals, and German born/Wisconsin based Hans Christian on cello and overall production. As the musical collaboration took form, new ideas emerged to dedicate the piece to the struggle for freedom of the Ukrainian people, with a focus on the besieged city of Mariupol. An excerpt of the historic speech by Ukrainian president Zelensky to the US Congress became the centerpiece of ‘Mariupol’.
